Grasshopper Movers were great for my 1-bedroom size move. They made the entire process stress free and, dare I say it, fun! The prices were competitive and transparent, the staff was friendly, and they did a great job moving and protecting my stuff - actually wrapping entire pieces of furniture in cloth with tape rather than just draping it on corners. They charge a flat transportation fee and an hourly rate, which is similar to other companies but here they don't charge extra for stairs (really?!) or have any hidden fees. I will be sure to use this moving company for any other Washington, D.C. moves. In total, my one bedroom move took just under four hours.

Steve Dennis and his crew are the most professional, efficient and courteous movers I have ever worked with.  

They moved my daughter in August and just moved me.  I'm very qualified to give this review as I've moved a lot.  

Also very punctual.  The communication leading up to the move with Steve was great.  Extremely responsive.

Nice counts a lot in movers.  I had a very small move, but Steve treated me like I was his biggest customer.  I would use them again in a heartbeat.  I've never seen movers this conscientious.  They know what they are doing.

I just wrote to Steven to re-hire Grasshopper Movers for a new job, and I realized I never provided an outstanding review for their original work for me, in June 2015. Suffice it to say they are the first people I am calling now, 2 years later, because the quality of their work back in 2015 was just exceptional. From scheduling, to planning, to move-in day, the professionalism was unparalleled. The actual move went flawlessly, with not even a smudge on any wall as they carefully maneuvered large furniture items around our narrow stair landings. Clearly, I would recommend as I am hiring them again myself!
